The Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department is 100% volunteer, which means that no member is ever compensated for his or her services. Each year, we respond on various runs from fires, medical, personal assists and mutual aid, which includes assisting other departments in the area like Connersville, Glenwood, Everton, Raliegh, and Milton to name a few. Members of this department volunteer over 1,100 documented man hours a year (on average) which does not include time for maintaining, cleaning or reparing trucks, maintaining and cleaning equipment (such as hoses), or maintaining the buildings and grounds. A lot of time also goes into the fish fry, with set up, cooking, and clean up afterwards.
Our service area is roughly 63 square miles covering all of Posey and Harrison Townships (outside of the Connersville city limits), and part of Waterloo Township.
